A BLACK-tie event is being held by Surrey County Council chairman Sally Marks to raise money for hospices across Surrey.

The fundraiser, which takes place at Loseley Park in Guildford, will feature a silent auction, a live auction, a raffle and a meal.

The event, which is open to anyone, takes place on Wednesday July 13, from 7pm.

Mrs Marks said: “I’m passionate about supporting our local hospices as they provide vital respite care not only for the carers but also those receiving care.

“Every hospice has to find a large chunk of its funding from the public and this event is something I can do to help so I hope people can attend and raise crucial money.”
