BLACKMOOR Estate’s Apple Tasting Day will be back for the 45th time next Sunday, October 11, from 10am to 4.30pm.
This popular free event, in aid of charity, is an opportunity for fruit enthusiasts to taste a variety of old and new apple and pear varieties grown in Blackmoor’s orchards - from traditional favourites like Cox’s Orange Pippin and Norfolk Royal Russet to new varieties like Evelina and Opal.
Apple “doctors” will identify apple ailments; there will be nursery tours, and trees and fruit will be on sale. There will also be a rural craft fair, demonstrations, horse-and-cart rides, live music, and Morris dancing.
