LIKE the rest of the South East, Bordon ground to a halt on Monday after a six-inch blanket of snow fell on the town.
Hampshire County Council sent out fleets of lorries loaded with salt and sand, but it was not enough to keep traffic flowing in what was the heaviest snowfall in the south of England for 18 years.
