A BLAZE has destroyed The Wheatsheaf pub in Arford, despite attempts by firecrews to control the fire.
Firecrews were on the scene in the early hours of Wednesday morning, but the fire was burning strongly before they arrived. It is thought there has been a pub on that site from about 1850.
