A PUBLICAN was left homeless and without a livelihood after flames engulfed the roof of The Green Dragon pub in Liphook last Thursday, causing major damage to the 16th Century building.

Kevin Adair had a lucky escape after being woken up by an early delivery on Thursday morning. Both he and his new puppy, a mountain dog, escaped the blaze, but he was left in shock by the severity of the fire.

After taking over the historic pub in 2011, the ex-Liphook United boss has been working hard to refurbish it and turning it into a popular meeting place.But fire gutted the building in less than 30 minutes.
