FOLLOWING a successful recruitment drive last year, several new and enthusiastic members have joined the Liphook In Bloom team, ensuring its future as some long-standing members will be taking a back seat at the end of this year.

In Bloom chairman Irene Ellis said: “We are thrilled to have these capable and enthusiastic volunteers joining us and taking Liphook in Bloom into the future together with a core of existing team members. The future of Liphook in Bloom is in very capable hands.

“However, the annual village competition has been put on hold for this year to enable the new volunteers to become established in the general running of Liphook In Bloom.”

Infant and junior school representatives are organising a mini garden competition and additional new beds are being planted on the village’s Millennium Green by team members.

This year’s Liphook In Bloom presentation evening is being replaced by a social evening on September 26 when more innovative ideas can be discussed and new members introduced.
