LIPHOOK infant and junior schools held a cocoa and story reading evening to encourage the enjoyment of books.
Dressed in their pyjamas and some with their favourite teddy bear, children returned to school to their classrooms which had been decorated to create a twinkling, calm atmosphere.
Teachers read stories and tales from a selection of their favourite books.
Commenting on the success of the evening, executive headteacher Michele Frost told The Herald: “Reading is such an essential part of every child’s learning.
“It is vital that they read every day, preferably aloud to an adult, older family member or friend. If we can instil a love of reading and exploring books at an early age, we hope children will enjoy reading for the rest of their lives.”
