BORDON library, at the Forest Centre, hosted a day of celebration to mark the dedication and hard work of its volunteers last week.

The prizegiving event, last Thursday, saw the library commend Summer Reading Challenge volunteers for their help encouraging literacy in local children. Home Library Service volunteers were also recognised for delivering books to readers who cannot get to the library themselves.

The winners of the day’s treasure hunt were Evie Murphy and Evie Powell who completed the challenge and took home book tokens.

Library manager Ashley Adkin thanked the volunteers for all their help, with staff on hand to serve tea, sandwiches and cake.
