THE Downing Street Charity Shop has donated £1,000 to Kent, Surrey and Sussex (KSS) Air Ambulance.
Steve Dowley of the KSS air ambulance visited the charity shop in December to receive the cheque from proprietor Lady Tindle.
Donations to the KSS air ambulance go towards funding vital equipment and training along with the cost of missions.
Last year the air ambulance attended more than 2,000 missions across the three counties saving the lives of many.
However, every potentially life-saving mission undertaken can cost as much as £2,600.
With a resourceful use of bubble wrap the air ambulance organisation is able to make donations of as little as £1 go towards saving lives.
Anyone interested in fundraising or donating can find more information online at www.kssairambulance.org.uk.
