Grayshott will almost certainly have to settle for knockout cup success this season after their emphatic defeat at second-placed Puttenham on Saturday.
The home team's outstanding bowling and fielding performance was too much for Grayshott who folded to 123 all out in 39 overs.
This was despite another excellent innings by Richard Baker who defied the home bowlers almost single-handedly with 68. The main instigators of Grayshott's demise were Paul Crouch and Rob Cunningham.
Puttenham lost two quick wickets to Lindsey-Clark and Lang, but in-form batsmen Travis Robinson and Keith Smith (61) settled into a partnership that put the result beyond doubt. Puttenham knocked off the runs with 10 overs to spare.
Puttenham, last season's division two champions, are emerging as genuine title contenders. They are now within four points of leaders The Bourne who were frustrated by the weather at Lindford.
Rooke and Culham made good use of the rain-affected pitch at Broxhead. Only Henderson (34) and, later, Hoban overcame the conditions and Lindford had struggled to 90-8 in the 43rd over when heavy rain forced the players in for an early tea. They never returned.
Batting first in reasonable conditions, Chiddingfold failed to get enough runs to test in-form Fernhurst. Webster and Marden batted soundly in the top order, but Jeff Ingrams (5-40), yet again, took wickets at vital times, while Doug Foster cut through the middle order with 3 for 25.
Fernhurst were left only 33 overs after the rain, but were more than equal to the task. An aggressive 78 not out by Foster settled the matter and with West and Melrose providing support in two good stands, the visitors won with nearly three overs to spare.
Rain delayed the start for 20 minutes at Witley, but Frensham made up for lost time after being asked to bat and declared at 201-9 from 41 overs.
Ben Maxwell scored a second consecutive fifty since returning to the club, putting on 74 for the first wicket with Chuter. Kohler and Willson (39) followed up with a stand of 58, while, for the home team, Robbie Leathem took 3 for 38 from 11 overs.
Rain during the interval limited Witley to 29 overs and spoiled the game. They were in a bit of trouble after losing two wickets to Maxwell, but Mark White and Jones batted out the remaining overs against the 10 bowlers used by Frensham.
Dogmersfield and Elstead shared the honours in the bottom-of-the-table clash. Both teams took three points after the scores had ended level in an exciting finish.
Put in to bat, Dogmersfield made steady progress against the nagging accuracy of the Elstead bowlers. However, Oliver Harker-Smith's 94 was an innings of quality and he was unlucky to miss his century as he steered Dogmersfield to a good total of 183-6 in 45 overs.
Elstead, after their two previous totals of 41 and 46, began very cautiously and had scored just 43 after 27 overs. Only eight runs came in 13 overs against Len Smith and Hyland. When Dogmersfield opened the game up with some more tempting fare, Crutcher and Thompson, and later Pearse, took up the challenge and the runs came rapidly. Elstead needed six off the last over, but the guile of Hyland restricted them to five.
Only 22.3 overs were possible at Headley. The home team were 59-3 against Tilford.
