HEADLEY bowlers presented a cheque for £400 to their local PPG medical group during the club’s weekly practice.
The money was part of the sum raised at the club’s annual annual charity event held earlier in August.
The balance of the final amount will be donated to other local charities. The fundraising event is attended solely by the club members and a mixture of stalls, competitions, crazy bowling, fancy dress all topped off with a cream tea encouraged the 50 members participating to dig deep and demonstrate their generosity.
Making the presentation, club president Don Stephens said that it gave the club great pride to be supporting worthy local causes for the 16th year in succession.
Receiving the cheque on behalf of the PPG, Barbara Symonds expressed their gratitude.
She outlined how the money would go towards purchasing items that the NHS could not afford to supply and help improve the patient experience at both the Badgerswood and Forest surgeries.
