STUDENTS at All Hallows School have raised more than £5,000 in honour of their friend.

Joe Mockridge, Jake Martin, Ollie West, Josh Woods and Conor Le Brun braved the shave for fellow student and friend Jenson Baxendale, who has Hodgkin lymphoma.

The auditorium at All Hallows was packed on the day of the shave, raising more than £700 for the Piam Brown children’s cancer ward at Southampton Hospital.

And the JustGiving page – available at justgiving.com/fundraising/jensonagainstcancer – has received a whopping £5,000 so far in donations.

Robert Antrobus, head of Year 9, said he was “very proud of the boys and what they did to show their support for Jenson”.

“They came up with it and I just helped them along,” he said.

“Thank you to Mr Doyle for allowing it to happen as it goes against school rules!”
