BADSHOT Lea Village Infants School’s thrill-seeking headteacher Gemma Ball has completed a tandem skydive in aid of deaf awareness charity Chloe’s and Sophie’s Special Ears Fund (CSSEF).

Mrs Ball undertook the challenge along with teaching assistant Hannah Larner on May 6 after the charity donated £10,000 last year to fund sound clouds in the school’s special needs classroom and hall to improve the acoustics for children with hearing impairments.

The duo jumped from 15,000ft over Salisbury Plain and both landed safely, raising more than £700 (including Gift Aid) for CSSEF.

Afterwards Mrs Ball said she hoped it “went a little way to saying thank you” to the charity, adding: “Hannah saw a request on social media for volunteers to jump so roped me in too. It was an incredible experience and one that we both hope to repeat in the future – hopefully with a few more recruits!”
