FARNHAM'S Non-partisan Petition Group (NPG) completed its march to Buckingham Palace this week, delivering a petition of more than 10,000 signatures to the Queen calling for Farnham's divorce from Waverley Borough Council.
Around 80 supporters of the NPG gathered at The William Cobbett pub on Saturday for a "loyal toast to the Queen" before the release of 12 white doves outside St Andrew's Churchyard marked the walkers' departure.
NPG chairman Mike Bryan and supporter Derek Sibley completed the 50-plus mile walk on Wednesday, taking in Weybridge, Richmond, Wandsworth and finally The Mall before delivering the petition in person to Buckingham Palace.
