IN support of National Anti-Bullying week, Counselling Directory launched Breaking the Barriers of Bullying, an anti-bullying campaign featuring a film created by video content agency NRG Digital of Farnham.

The film focuses on the central fact that bullying does not discriminate - bullying is everywhere.

“As a multi-award winning, BAFTA-nominated business based in Farnham, we love being able to use our skills and experience to create a film which has the potential to make such a positive difference in people’s lives,” said creative producer James McLauchlan.

The film features actors aged 10 to 70 telling true stories of people who were affected by bullying at different stages of life, from school age to adulthood.

“Working with Counselling Directory on their bullying awareness campaign video has been a pleasure as it is always satisfying to be part of something which raises awareness of what is a very important and often overlooked cause”, James added.

The film was inspired by a Counselling Directory survey that showed 55 per cent of people have been bullied at some point in their lives, and those who admitted to being bullied said that it resulted in low self-esteem, depression and/or social anxiety.

A staggering 70 per cent of those bullied never talked to anyone about their challenges.
