BRIDGE Square will not need to suffer the onslaught of 40-tonne lorries negotiating its narrow bend double bend, once strengthening of Firgrove Hill Bridge is completed and its 7.5 tonne weight limit is lifted.
The Waverley partnership area transportation sub-committee has decided to impose a new 7.5 tonne limit on environmental and safety grounds.
