BRIDGE players from all over the county have been raising money to support Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.

Over the last 12 months, members of the County Bridge Association have raised £1,462 through a series of charity events, raffles, and other fundraising activities.

Last Saturday, players gathered for the annual congress at Petersfield Community Centre where Petersfield Bridge Club chairman Mike Kinsey presented a cheque to Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance volunteer Geoff Morton (pictured).

Presenting the cheque, Mike said: “We have chosen Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance as our charity of the year for many years and we are delighted to continue to support this vital charity.”

It costs more than £9,000 per day to maintain the lifesaving service provided by Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.

It’s only thanks to the generosity of local communities that the charity can continue to bring an advanced critical care team to people in Hampshire and when they need it most.
