WAVERLEY Borough Council has dismissed fears over a lack of funding for its Brightwells regeneration scheme in Farnham and has written to the Government to explain how the scheme is "gaining in financial strength".
Notes of the council's July Brightwells Steering Group meeting, obtained last week under the Freedom of Information Act, revealed the council was yet to secure funding for its development - some six months after construction was due to start.
But Waverley's leader Robert Knowles has reassured Farnham taxpayers that the scheme remains financially viable and many avenues of funding are being explored to ensure "the best return possible on its investment of public funds".
