THE Discover Whitehill and Bordon Project is urging local clubs and societies to get in touch and sign up for free publicity, as entries into the project's new information leaflet are being finalised. The project is designed to make local residents aware of the amazing range of leisure activities, clubs and societies available in the Whitehill and Bordon areas. Chairman of the project, Adam Carew, said: "We are offering local clubs and societies a unique opportunity to advertise themselves to the people of Whitehill and Bordon and gain new members, completely free of charge. There are no catches." Hampshire County Council have funded the project, meaning the service is free to users. Once finished, the project's brochure will be sent to every household in the Bordon area. The brochure will include information about a wide range of local activities for all age groups including health, fitness, sport, culture, entertainment, social clubs, leisure learning and any other opportunities available locally. Project co-ordinator John Best said: "Things are changing in Whitehill and Bordon. "As an outsider I am amazed to find so much going on in the area, everything from archery and archaeology to Scouts and scuba diving, but we want more people to know about it. "The brochure is a sort of directory for all local clubs, societies and leisure activities." If you would like to have your club or societies' activities promoted in the brochure and later, on the Discover Whitehill and Bordon website, call John Best, c/o Merchistoun Hall, 106 London Road, Horndean, Hants PO8 9LJ.
