WHITEHILL and Bordon townsfolk made history at the weekend, possibly breaking a world record, in aid of Bladder Cancer Awareness Month.

The aim was simple - to get as many people as possible in one place, on one leg, blowing bubbles.

Organisers said the record attempt, held at Bordon’s Hogmoor Inclosure on Saturday, May 26, saw “a great turnout” with perfect conditions for blowing bubbles.

DJ Disco Darren provided a bubble machine, which helped set the scene and got everyone in the mood.

“Runners from the Hogmoor Inclosure Parkrun, parents, children and members of the community took part in this really fun charity event,” a spokesman from the Whitehill and Bordon Regeneration Company, which promoted the event, said.

“Some of the partakers knew someone who had been diagnosed with bladder cancer or were impacted by the condition in some way, so it was a cause close to their hearts.

“The world record for blowing bubbles while standing on one leg was broken, although this is pending verification by the world record organisation.”
