EAST Hampshire District Council (EHDC) was expected to get a stormy ride this week as a row rumbles on over a footpath on a Petersfield estate.
It comes after a report on the Skinners Lane pathway, off Ramshill, was set to be discussed at a district council planning meeting tonight.
It follows a failure to ever open the footpath, which was a condition of the development which began in 2003 on Barentin Way, and confirmation by Tom Horwood, executive director of EHDC, that its failure to act could be seen as maladministration.
The original footpath was designed as a safe, well-lit footpath link for pedestrians to the Ramshill estate and managed by the developers Taylor Woodrow.
But the public footpath along Skinners Farm Lane, which has been the subject on ongoing but sporadic dissuasions with developers and Hampshire County Council, has yet to be built.
It is now the subject of a breach of condition notice, which requires the developer to carry out the work.
