WHITEHILL police are encouraging residents to be vigilant following a spate of burglaries around the area last week.
The first two dwellings to be targeted were flats in Grayshott. The first took place between October 5 and October 6 and the second on October 9, between 1 pm and 9 pm.
These break-ins were followed by two house burglaries in Grayshott and Liphook respectively. The first happened between 5-20 pm and 10-30 pm on October 13.
The second intrusion took place between 3 pm and 3-30 pm on October 15 but the intruder was disturbed by the occupier.
ÒThe resident returned home mid afternoon and heard someone upstairs but the intruder managed to escapeÓ said Sergeant Howard Lovegrove, who is based at Whitehill police station..
Sgt Lovegrove would like to encourage everyone to be Òsecurity consciousÓ following the burglaries.
ÒI would like to get the message out to other prospective victims to be on the look out for any suspicious characters and report them to us at the station.Ó
