PLANS to create a "prestigious business park" on the edge of Petersfield will be unveiled next week.

Dozens of new jobs could be created in Petersfield if developers get the nod to build on part of Buckmore Farm.

Early plans by the Gentian Development Ltd to develop the greenfield site will be displayed at St Peter's Hall next Wednesday.

The five-acre site between the A272 services and Stoneham Close has been earmarked for industry and commerce in the local plan.

The vision includes a handful of business units, ranging in size, and access from a junction opposite Princes Road.

The access road appears to run parallel to the eastern edge of the site and could lead to development land north of the Great Oak if extended.

Comments made to inspectors during the joint core strategy consultation suggest an application could be submitted before the end of the year.

East Hampshire District Council has confirmed that discussions between the would-be applicants and planners had taken place, but were mainly about next week's presentation.

Neither Gentian nor their partners, Turley Associates, were available to comment.

The draft plans are available from noon to 8pm next Wednesday.
