HINDHEAD businesses which have been hit hard by lengthy roadworks are being backed by their their MP.

Tory Jeremy Hunt met company representatives and councillors at the Devil's Punch Bowl Hotel on Saturday to discuss the problems village businesses have faced since work started last summer to regenerate the area.

Many businesses have lost thousands of pounds as a result of the roadworks on the old A3 and poor signage, which has deterred customers and caused a dramatic drop in trade.
