BELLS Piece in Farnham teamed up with local businesses to put on a Santa’s grotto for residents.

The Santa’s grotto event had to be cancelled because of Covid regulations – but residents were still able to collect their presents.

Bells Piece is home to 15 adults with learning disabilities, all of whom have had minimal interaction with anyone, other than their support workers and families, for 18 months because of the Covid-19 pandemic lockdowns.

Residents, their families and support workers were expecting to get together to celebrate the Christmas grotto – made possible by a team of volunteers from Enterprise Rent-A-Car in Aldershot.

The Enterprise Rent-A-Car ‘Angel Tree’ provided a special gift for each resident to collect from Santa in the decorated grotto.

Because of changing Covid-19 legislation, the event was cancelled. However the grotto in the old shop area was available for residents and their support workers to visit to collect their gifts.

Additional contributions came from Squires Garden Centre at Badshot Lea, Haskins Garden Centre and Shirley Donald from Enterprise Rent-A-Car, who made and sold Christmas cakes.
