DESPITE a shortage of people selling properties in the Farnham area, Andrew Lodge Estate Agents has celebrated a record sales week.

The independent firm sold more than £7m of property, making it the firm’s best sales week this year.

Sales advisers at Andrew Lodge normally have a busy run-up to the new year as the autumn and winter months are often a popular time to sell, but this was an unusually busy period.

The team, based in Farnham’s Downing Street, sold many new instructions and also properties that had been on their property portfolio for some months.

Director Stephen Jenkins said: “We had an amazing sales week, with almost every other phone call involving an offer.

“It was one of our busiest weeks this year and we were delighted to sell some properties that had been on our books for a while.

“It goes to show that some properties can sell within a week or two and others take more time. The key is determination and a realistic approach to pricing. It can take time to find the right buyer, but with our connections we always get there in the end.

“There is a shortage of sellers at the moment, but I must emphasise that now is great time to market a property. People are keen to buy in Farnham area and equally as keen to move in the New Year so that they are settled for the spring.”
