A garden centre near Farnham is bringing in the top brass as the festive season gets into full swing.

It’s beginning to look – and sound- a lot like Christmas at Haskins Forest Lodge with a packed schedule of events being confirmed for the weeks ahead.

Christmas shoppers will be given the perfect soundtrack on November 22 and 29 with the award-winning Alder Valley Brass Band performing from 11am to 2pm.

And a buoy band – ho, ho, ho – will drop in on Wednesday, December 2, with a local sea shanty band putting a maritime slant on festive favourites during a late-night shopping event that runs until 8pm.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming families and friends to celebrate Christmas at Haskins, whether they’re joining us for a brass band performance or supporting our charity collections,” said Simon Hughes, general manager.

“It’s the perfect opportunity to enjoy some live music, soak up the festive atmosphere, and make a little extra magic of your Christmas shopping trip.”

The programme should also raise plenty of notes for the centre’s charity of the year, Hampshire Search and Rescue, with collections taking place over the period.

Simon added: “The charity contributes so much to our community and Christmas is the perfect time to give something back.

“We’d like to encourage all our customers to join us in raising funds for such an important cause during the most wonderful time of the year.”

During the season of goodwill, the centre hosts a further donation collection in-store to support Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.

Find the charity’s team stationed in the centre for donations from 10am to 4pm this Saturday, November 14.

An in-store collection weekend in support of Hampshire Search and Rescue will take place on Saturday and Sunday, December 5 and 6.
