FARNHAM’S new Premier Inn and Beefeater both opened their doors in Guildford Road at the weekend, with the creation of around 75 jobs.

The 60-bedroom Premier Inn hotel and restaurant/bar has created 15 jobs with one team member being enrolled in the chain’s apprenticeship scheme and nine being previously long-term unemployed.

Four team members recruited to the new hotel are between the ages of 16 and 24, and the opening has invested £4.6 million into the local economy.

The adjacent Beefeater restaurant and grill has created a further 60 jobs, filled with the help of a recruitment day in partnership with Aldershot Job Centre in March.

Jason Piontecki, new openings manager for Premier Inn Farnham, said: “I’m delighted to open the new Farnham site.

“The team has been busy getting to know the area with a bucket collection at the carnival, a car wash and a raffle.

“Furthermore, the site has raised just under £500 for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity, including an 80-mile static bike ride.

“The team have also donated 60 hours to help the Disability Challengers charity, based in Farnham and Guildford.”
