BEACON Hill celebrates the opening of a new shop on Saturday.

The Beacon Hill Butchers is the first opportunity for Adrian White, who grew up in Haslemere and learned his trade for six years at Bells Butchers in Wey Hill before working elsewhere, to open his own shop.

His new business will specialise in dry aged beef and sell locally-sourced meat. Adrian also intends to be as plastic free as possible and use 100 per cent recycled trays and paper carrier bags

Haslemere mayor John Robini said: “It’s really heartening that Beacon Hill is such a thriving community. Aide White is an experienced butcher and is helping to maintain the retail trade, when so many towns and villages are seeing retail premises closing.

“I wish him every success in this venture.”
