MUM-of-two Carla Dormer is set to launch Farnham’s first ‘mum2mum’ market, giving parents an opportunity to make money selling their outgrown baby and children’s clothes, toys, books and equipment to other families.

The mum2mum market was started in 2011 by busy mum Cath Harrop. Having bought and sold on eBay, Cath realised there was a need for an event which brought together local parents so they can sell to each other face to face.

She presented her mum2mum market idea on popular BBC Two programme Dragon’s Den and the business has gone from strength to strength since Deborah Meaden made her investment.

Cath now has a network of local mums running their own mum2mum markets across the UK.

Carla is the latest, and said: “I heard about mum2mum market through a friend and thought it was a brilliant idea.

“I am so excited to be giving local parents the opportunity to buy great-quality second-hand goods or make some cash from their outgrown children’s stuff.

“So many of our baby and children’s toys and equipment are hardly used so selling nearly new is a wonderful way to recycle preloved items, while decluttering your home.”

The next mum2mum market will take place from 2pm-4pm on Sunday, May 12, at St Polycarp’s School, Waverley Lane, Farnham.

Admission is £2 on the door, kids are free, and entry is free to all after 3.30pm for the last half-hour of the sale. Visit mum2mummarket.co.uk.
