THE Alton branch of Santander bank will be closed until September for a refurb.

Based at 46a High Street, the bank will reopen on September 6.

A bank spokesman said that during the temporary closure, Santander account holders can visited branches in Farnham, Basingstoke, and Petersfield.

The five members of staff from the Alton branch will be relocated to Farnham and Basingstoke while the refurbishment is carried out.

Alton branch manager Susannah Carpenter said: “We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused to our customers by the temporary closure of our branch and thank them for their patience during this time.

“However, we are delighted to be able to demonstrate our commitment to the local community by making such a big investment in this refurbishment.

“We look forward to welcoming customers back to a modern new branch which will offer state-of-the-art digital facilities and an innovative design, once the work is completed in September.”
