SARAH Squire has taken over the reins as chairman of the Badshot Lea-based Squire’s Garden Centre chain.

The previous incumbent, Sarah’s father Colin Squire, takes on the role of chairman emeritus after 30 years as chairman and more than five decades in the business.

He will remain an active director of the business, with particular focus on developing each of Squire’s garden centres and the company’s involvement with local communities.

Sarah said: “It is a great privilege to take on the role of chairman of our family company.”

Sarah will focus on further developing the independent family business, which has 15 garden centres.
