SHOOTING Star Children’s Hospices has received a helping hand from CALA Homes, being awarded £2,250 as part of the homebuilder’s Community Bursary initiative.

Shooting Star Children’s Hospices is a leading children’s hospice charity caring for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families. The charity supports families across Surrey.

The funding is going towards the community nursing team. The team of five community nurses provides emotional and practical support to families, including end-of-life nursing care for terminally-ill children.

Anne Carey, head of corporate engagement at Shooting Star Children’s Hospices, said: "We can’t thank CALA Homes enough for their very generous funding.

"This money has meant our community nursing team have the equipment they need to ensure they can provide the very best care and support to terminally-ill children.

"It’s very important our community nursing team remains connected and informed to ensure outstanding bespoke care is given to each and every child and their families we support."
