Three East Hampshire businesses have been named in a list of the top 100 exporting companies in the south east of England, compiled by thebusinessmagazine.co.uk

Petersfield-based InSync Technology Ltd is a designer, developer and producer of hardware and software standards converters for international TV distribution. Its customers are located in Japan, South Korea, Argentina, Italy, Switzerland and the USA.

PelGar International, in Alton, is a pesticide and insecticide manufacturer, while Percussion Play Ltd, in Froxfield, designs and manufactures outdoor musical instruments. Its top five markets are currently the USA, Australia, Denmark, Canada and China.

Fewer than ten per cent of UK businesses are currently involved in exporting yet, according to the CBI, exporting offers many opportunities for businesses to grow.

The article continues: “Companies that trade internationally open up new markets for themselves, are more productive, more innovative and diversify their risk profile.

“Selling in the UK is relatively easy, but entering new markets overseas requires a thorough understanding of the potential new market, trade terms, local customs and regulations, and a fail-safe method of payment.”

Will McGarrigle, head of global trade at CBI, added the UK’s innovation and creativity have “never been more relevant” in a changing world.

He continued: “This is the moment for government and business to set a world-leading level of ambition, backed by action, that will position the UK as a thriving, open and global economy for generations to come.”
