THREE Haslemere businesses were among the 30 Surrey winners voted for by the public in the Muddy Stilettos Awards 2016.

The Georgian Hotel won Best Large Hotel, Bread of Heaven won Best Bakery and Woodie and Morris won Best Boutique.

Over the past few months, customers and subscribers to the Muddy Stilettos Surrey blog have been nominating and voting for their favourite independent businesses in 30 different categories.

The competition triggered 10,000 nominations and more than 20,000 votes were cast for 500 businesses across Surrey.

The Georgian Hotel’s events manager Brodie McHallam (pictured) said: “The fantastic team at The Georgian were overwhelmed by the support of our clientele and suppliers during the voting for the Muddy Stilettos awards, and we are delighted to have been the outright winner of the Best Large Hotel category,

“A real sense of community spirit has been inspired by these awards, with 10 Haslemere businesses being nominated and we hope it becomes an annual event for businesses across the county.”

Middy Stilettos’ Amber Evans said: “Surrey’s High Street businesses are the heart of the community and the locals are basically saying a big ‘thank-you’ to them through their votes and support.”

Secretts Farm Shop in Milford was voted Best Deli in Surrey.
