FORMER RAF Flight Lieutenant Nick Hinchliffe was invested as a knight of the Order of St George at Rochester Cathedral.

Mr Hinchliffe, who is pictured with fellow knights Roger Short and David Jensen, is a former headmaster of St George’s military school, in Norway, and taught in most of Haslemere’s schools as a supply teacher.

Mr Hinchliffe is a former chairman of the Haslemere branch of Royal Society of St George and member of the national council.

In 1991, he was made a Member of the Order of St John by the Queen.
