EAST Hampshire Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) is facing "unparalleled times ahead" as the impact of Government spending cuts hit home but trustees believe it is now well placed to meet the challenge.

In his report to a 130-strong audience at the annual meeting, held at the Alton Maltings Centre on Friday, board of trustees chairman Richard Watts said that the three bureaux in Alton, Bordon and Petersfield had reached the end of their first year of operating as a single East Hampshire unit and, while it had been "a hard road" for those involved in the merger process, EHCAB was now successfully established and working to develop its service for local residents.
