THE Bourne community sprung into action this week after a burst water pipe caused a major flood in a popular cafe.
Marina Pearman, owner of the Indigo Cafe at The Bourne crossroads, opened up on Sunday morning to find her cafe submerged under two inches of water.
However, within hours of the discovery, a plumber and around 30 other local residents leapt to her aid and offered to help patch up the damage.
Before she knew it, the burst pipe was fixed, carpets were removed, floor boards were taken up, rubbish was on its way to the tip and dehumidifiers were busy drying out her sodden cafe.
