AN opposition leader on Waverley Council has called for the council to make a more positive approach to introducing household food waste collections.

Ken Reed, Liberal Democrat group leader, has said that if the council can't afford a weekly collection at the moment, an alternate weekly collection could be introduced - sending food waste from the wheelie bin to landfill one week and collecting it separately for recycling the next.
