County councillor David Munro is demanding a public inquiry into the granting of permission to re-open the Alton Road sandpit in Wrecclesham.
Mr Munro, who represents the area as South Farnham County Councillor, has written expressing his desire to the Government Office of the South East, which is passing on representations about the pit to environment secretary John Prescott, who will have the final say.
