PEOPLE are being encouraged to start 2016 by making a New Year resolution to get fitter while making someone else’s life better by taking part in the eighth annual charity fun run/walk around Lasham Airfield on January 1.

Starting at 11am from Lasham Gliding Club, the proceeds from this year’s event will go to Hounds4Heroes, the charity that trains assistance dogs for disabled men and women of the Armed Forces and civilian emergency services.

Entry is £5 and the course follows a three-mile route on a hard surface around the perimeter of the airfield, and it is open to children over the age of 10.

There will be a tombola on the day, with refreshments and bar available at the clubhouse. Parking is available off the Avenue Road entrance.
