A CALL has gone out for director to help stage a dramatic re-enactment of the Siege (or Battle) of Moor Park in 1897 to mark this year’s heritage open days in Farnham.
Historian Rosemary Wisbey has written a script for a 15-minute pantomime style re-enactment of the riots caused after the owners of Moor Park Lodge barred the gates to their estate, and the Farnham Society’s heritage team has secured permission from the present owner of Moor Park Lodge.
However, the Farnham heritage open days volunteers need help bringing their artistic vision to reality.
“For this year’s heritage open days, the National Trust’s theme is people power, and we have been inspired to try and stage short a re-enactment of the siege on the site for heritage open days on Saturday, September 14,” said Sue Farrow from the Farnham Society.
“We have huge enthusiasm about staging and perhaps filming a family event – all we need is a director to make it happen.”
Anyone interested is asked to email Sue at [email protected].
