NOMINATIONS areopen for the by-election to fill two vacant seats on Whitehill Town Council.

Candidates can put themselves forward for election to the two wards, Deadwater and Hogmoor, until 4pm on August 7.

East Hampshire District Council will be managing the election and nomination papers are available from its elections team on 01730 234370 or through the website www.easthants.gov.uk/elections/whitehill-town-council-election. If the election is contested, polling will take place on September 4, between 7am and 10pm. Poll cards will be sent out from July 31 and postal votes from August 21.

Whitehill Town Council has 15 seats. The political make-up is currently 10 Conservative councillors, three Whitehill & Bordon Community Party councillors and two vacancies.
