TOWN councillors in Petersfield have come under fire over increases to car park charges in the town. Liss Parish Council chairman Roger Mullenger said these presented a "dreadful rate of inflation over four years, in the times when everyone is trying to keep the charges with the rate of inflation". He reported that parking in the town centre would rise from 70p to 90p in some areas, with full pay required on Sundays. Season tickets were expected to go up by more than £100 a year. One parish councillor quipped: "Are they trying to encourage us to use public transport?"
