ALRESFORD-based home care company Home Instead Senior Care has celebrated its fifth birthday with a tea party attended by past, current and future clients, relatives, staff, supporters and neighbours.

Guests descended on Alresford Community Centre to enjoy tea and cakes and songs from the 1930s and 1940s courtesy of singer Amanda Parsons, of Song Bird Entertainments.

A large birthday cake was cut by special guest Dr Yvonne Butler, a Home Instead client for three years, with help from councillor Jackie Porter and Jan Gapper, director of care.

Steve Gapper, of Home Instead, which serves people in Winchester, New Alresford, Eastleigh, Chandlers Ford and surrounding areas, said: “We wanted to host a party to thank everyone for helping to make our first five years such a success. We’ve supported 500 clients in that time, which is wonderful.”

Mrs Porter added: “The Home Instead care team are so well loved in the local community.

“Many people are enabled to remain living independently in their own homes because of the support and care they receive, which is always delivered with warmth and a smile.”

Mrs Gapper said: “Our fifth birthday is a marvellous achievement, thanks largely to our committed and caring staff, and all our clients and their relatives who put their trust in us to help keep them in their own homes for as long as possible.

“With good care and support provision, older people can continue to enjoy a high quality of life, and we’re so proud to provide valuable care, companionship and support that enable this to happen.”
