THE doors of a Petersfield care home were set to close for good this week with the departure of its last residents.
Silence has fallen on Bulmer House despite a brave campaign by supporters to keep its doors open.
Alternative homes were found for around a dozen residents after Hampshire County Council sounded the death knell in December.
The remaining two were set to move to Malmesbury Lawn in Leigh Park, near Havant, on Wednesday ahead of the home's likely demolition and replacement.
