ENFORCEMENT action has been taken against Surrey County Council by the Care Quality Commission, in a move to safeguard elderly people living in a Farnham care home.

Inspectors who carried out an unannounced early morning inspection in October at Cobgates Resource Centre in Falkner Road have reported that urgent improvements are required.

A formal warning notice has been issued and the council has been given until Friday to submit a report, setting out the action it will take to meet the essential standards of quality and safety that it failed.

In particular the inspectors highlighted that adequate care records were not always maintained for people living in the home.
