THE charity Friends of the Elderly is hoping for a good turnout when it hosts a care home open day, next week.

Staff, volunteers and residents at Redcot in Three Gates Lane, Haslemere, invites friends and neighbours guests to join them for strawberries and Pimms in the lovely gardens overlooking the Surrey Downs.

Everyone is welcome between 11am and 2pm on Friday, June 16, and there will be stalls and tours at the event in support of Care Home Open Day, an annual initiative in which sees thousands of care homes open their doors to the public across the UK.
