HE led his protesters like a general leading his troops, and the 50 people who turned up at Liphook railway station on Monday night to demonstrate against the axing of the Bordon-Liphook rail-link bus did county and district councillor Adam Carew proud by coming equipped with banners and personal stories of hardship if the service goes.
Aware time is running out -South West Trains plans to stop the service on May 17 saying it is haemorrhaging money - Mr Carew had stepped up the fight last week, by organising a public meeting for bus users and residents as well as having "a polite but frank discussion" with Stewart Palmer, head of South West Trains (SWT), in a bid to sway the company's decision to stop the service. But he came away saying the forecast was grim.
