ADAM Carew is Mr Whitehill and Bordon, although if he had the choice it would probably be Mr Woolmer Forest.

With a seat on all three tiers of local government - the county, district and town councils - he has a unique overview of the town and how it fits into what is going on, more broadly, in the district of East Hampshire and, more broadly still, in the county of Hampshire.

He was re-elected as Whitehill Town Council leader in May this year, after standing down in 2013, while also retaining his district council seat, having crossed the floor from the Liberal Democrats to the Conservatives (also in 2013). His Hampshire County Council seat was not up for election in May but, with all the other seats on the council, will be in 2017.

A councillor for 12 years, Mr Carew’s understanding of Whitehill and Bordon is deepened by his lifelong attachment to the town, which he would like to be called “Woolmer Forest”, while stressing he is “equally happy” with its current name.

And with the town being redeveloped, it is a key time to be involved in the decisions and processes that will shape its future.
